Full Survey

The main purpose of having a survey performed is to know in advance what you are buying or selling. The asking price of a boat doesn't always reflect its condition. With a pre-purchase survey by a qualified expert, you gain certainty about the condition of your boat, a clear survey report, tips, and recommendations.

The Yacht surveyor specializes in the thorough inspection of yachts in the broadest sense. Using a standard checklist, the condition of the vessel is assessed. The construction, mechanics, safety, and state of maintenance are carefully inspected. Your presence during an inspection is appreciated, so that matters can be explained and clarified during and after the inspection. A sea trial is also part of the survey (except in extremely adverse weather conditions).

The duration of an inspection varies per vessel, but we are never in a hurry. A few days after the survey, you will receive a complete report detailing the findings and/or recommendations.

All components of your vessel are covered in the report:

  • The hull below the waterline
  • The hull above the waterline
  • The decks, superstructure, and cockpit
  • Rigging (up to 2m height)
  • The interior
  • The technical system
  • The liquid gas system
  • The electrical system
  • All equipment
  • The propulsion system(s), including sea trials
  • All safety and lifesaving equipment on board

Moist reading

A moisture measurement is very important on a polyester vessel. It immediately reveals whether the vessel has a good epoxy coating under the antifouling and/or whether osmosis is present.

Seatrial

Weather permitting, we also hoist the sails to assess whether they match the specifications.

We also warm up the engine and check for visual leaks or overheating using thermal imaging.
We also conduct a oil check and coolant age.

Boat lift

The underwater hull is checked for delamination (acoustic), moisture measurements using Tramex Skipper and Protimeter Aquant, clearance on rudder blades, propeller shaft and keel construction.
