Purchase guidance

There are many aspects to consider when purchasing a (new) yacht. Pim van Putten of The Yacht surveyor is happy to provide you with an expert and impartial assessment.

Our membership with BOATSGROUP allows us to compare your dream yacht effectively against a global database of previously sold yachts.

This allows us to work with you to agree on a realistic price for negotiations, ensuring you're paying a fair market value.

The Yacht surveyor can also conduct initial inspections on your behalf, both domestically and internationally, if you have a yacht in mind. This prevents time-consuming disappointments if the yacht doesn't match its online presentation.

When agreeing on a price, it's important to clearly state any terms and conditions of the purchase in the purchase agreement. Thanks to our 10+ years of (inter)national experience in yacht brokerage, we're the right partner to handle this for you.

We're also happy to review any required documentation for you. Consider the following:

  • (Original) VAT declaration or purchase invoice (for vessels built after June 1985)
  • CE/Builder's Declaration of Conformity (for vessels built after June 1998)
  • Owner's manual (for vessels built after June 1998)
  • Invoices for major and noteworthy renovations, such as engine maintenance, rigging, and rigging.
  • Cadastral registration: is this applicable, and if so, is the seller the authorized owner?

Cadastry registration

Multiple yachts are branded in the Cadastry. We often see this at yachts that have for example a bankloan or morgage on it. For longer voyages at sea we highly recommend to register your yacht. This proofs 100% ownership in various countries.

With the sale and purchase of a yacht belongs a good documentation. Such as the following:
